Dodoma. The Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr John Ndugai has issued marching orders to the Kibamba MP John Mnyika (Chadema) out of the debating chamber and remain out for a week.
This comes following a verbal exchange between the MP and the Speaker during a parliamentary session in Dodoma.
It all started during the session, when Mr Mnyika was speaking after being given a chance to inform Mr Livingstone Lusinde (Mtera-CCM) who alleged that the opposition was protecting mineral thiefs.
However, a voice was heard from the floor saying 'Mnyika is a thief.'
Then, Mnyika asked the Speaker to take action on the person who has uttered the words against him. But the speaker said he did not know about the “utterances” and that they were not recorded in the Hansard.
Mr Mnyika insisted that the matter could not go through that way.
After a moment of verbal exchange between the Speaker and Mr Mnyika, the Speaker ordered surgent at arms to take Mr Mnyika out of the National Assembly and that he should not attend sessions for the entire next week.
In protest of the speaker’s move against Mr Myika, opposition MPs have moved out of debating chamber.
