Zambia considers treason charge against opposition leader Hichilema

A Zambian court will rule on whether it will proceed with a case of treason against the leader of the opposition or not.

Haikande Hichilema was arrested and detained last month for allegedly obstructing President Edgar Lungu’s motorcade.

Opposition members say the charges are baseless and are evidence of increasing authoritarianism.

Al Jazeera's Fahmida Miller reports from the capital Lusaka.
